Corrections to published figures are the most useful thing you can send us.
Corrections
If a specification on this site is wrong, we want to know. The most helpful correction names the product, the figure as published here, and what it should be — ideally with the manufacturer’s own listing or documentation as the source.
Specification errors here usually have one of three causes: a manufacturer restated a figure after we collected it, a listing changed, or our extraction misread a unit. All three have happened. All three are fixable, and the fix usually improves every page the product appears on.
What we cannot help with
We are not a retailer and have no access to any order, delivery or warranty. For anything concerning a purchase, contact the retailer or the manufacturer directly — they can act on it and we cannot.
We also cannot recommend a specific unit for your situation beyond what the freezer finder already does. We have not handled any of these appliances, and an opinion from us would carry no more weight than the specifications the finder already shows you.
Press and data
The baselines on this site are computed from published manufacturer specifications and the method is documented in full. If you want to cite a figure, that page describes how it was derived and what its limits are.
What makes a correction actionable
The most useful corrections point at a specific figure on a specific page and say what it should be. “The capacity is wrong on the chest freezer page” is hard to act on; “this ASIN is listed at 5.0 cu ft but the manufacturer’s page says 7.0” is a fix we can make and verify in minutes.
Corrections that identify a systematic problem are more valuable still. A single wrong capacity affects one product. A unit conversion applied to the wrong field affects every product that publishes that field — and errors of that kind are the ones most likely to survive our own checks, because they produce numbers that look entirely plausible.
Suggesting a category or a specification
If there is a specification you weigh heavily when buying a freezer and this site does not compare it, that is worth telling us. Sometimes the reason is that the data does not exist at sufficient coverage — noise and energy figures are both in that position, published by too few listings to compare fairly. Sometimes it simply has not occurred to us.
The distinction matters, because the first is a limit we should state more clearly and the second is a gap we can close.
How to reach us
Write to freezers.spec@noviceventures.com. It is a monitored inbox, and corrections to published figures are read first.
This is a small operation rather than a support desk, so a reply may take a few days. A correction that names the product and the figure will always get one.
